Product Description
Details

Iris sibirica 'Sun Comes Up' is a stunning Siberian iris that brings a soft and enchanting color palette to the garden. Introduced by Marty Schafer and Jan Sacks in 2004, this delicate perennial reaches a height of 65 cm and blooms in midseason, usually in early June. The flower showcases very light blue standards over a pale yellow base, with the falls highlighted by blue over yellow, paling toward the edges. A golden-yellow signal with thin blue veins adds an exquisite touch of detail, making it a must-have for any perennial border. Realy shining in any wild garden composition.

This hardy iris thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun to partial shade, requiring little care once established. As a midseason bloomer, Siberian iris 'Sun Comes Up' adds elegance to garden spaces with its ruffled petals and soft fragrance. It’s also resistant to pests, making it a robust and easy-to-grow option for iris lovers. Awarded an Honorable Mention in 2008, this perennial is a standout in any garden.

How to grow Japanese iris

Iris ensata is a full-sun iris growing naturally in open wet fields in eastern Asia. Iris ensata has a vertical growth habit like most other iris species. Its large flowers come in different shades of blue. It needs to be grown in an acid humus-rich soil, with regular watering between early March and the end of July. Iris ensata can be planted in a sunny place in the garden, at the banks of a pond or slow flowing streams, or in wet places that are not flooded during the winter. It may prove necessary to cover the young plants through the first winter (with mulch, straw or bark shavings etc.) especially in the case of late planting.
