Buffalo Hosta

Buffalo hostas are our own product. These hostas were hybridized by Milan and Dana Zúbrik from Žiar nad Hronom (Slovakia). They were tested at our company and the best ones have been registered in the American Hosta Society (AHS). They are our exclusive product. After breeding, they were planted for several years in our garden to make sure that these are valuable perennials, fully suitable for the conditions of Central Europe. If the cultivar meets our expectations, we register and introduce them to the market. The whole process of breeding, testing and registration of one cultivars usually takes 6 - 10 years. For practical reasons, we give our cultivars English names, and their names begin with the prefix Buffalo - which is the English translation of our surname Zúbrik - a small buffalo. We hope that you will appreciate their good growth characteristics and richly colored leaves. We believe that some of them will soon decorate your perennial bed.
