How to grow Heuchera
Heuchera is native to North America. They are easy to grow and blend easily with most other perennials in the landscape. In the very warmest parts of the EU, foliage will remain all year round. In most other areas, the foliage will appear in March and through November. Flowers appear above the foliage normally from early June onwards, although this does vary slightly depending on the variety. They tend to produce masses of flowers. A suitable habitat for peucheras is part shade. Some cultivars tolerant even full sun. As a rule of thumb, the darker cultivars withstand full sun better than the lighter colored ones. They will grow in most soil types but perform best in rich, free-draining soils. They do well from chalk to clay soils. Heucheras are often used in perennial beds, as edging along paths, and can be successfully grown in containers.
