Helleborus niger has large, brilliant white flowers. They last more than for the month. White color turns to green. It is very hardy perennial and it flowers throughout the darkest winter months, from December to March.

The name “Christmas rose” is no coincident. While all other plants have a winter rest, the representatives of Helleborus shine in full bloom. Flowers appear from February to April and make after flowering almost a month a nice effect. Hellebore is a typical perennial suitable for planting under the tree in semi-shade condition. Plants need place with plenty of moisture in spring and over the summer the soil can be less dry. Soil should be well-drained, with a high content of nutrients. Helleborus can easily be cultivated also in pots.
